On Pedder was hosting a press preview on Monday for its AW 2014 Collection, and I was invited to attend.

As one of the biggest and the best select shops for fashion accessories in Hong Kong, On Pedder didn’t disappoint with its collection. For AW 2014, the collection covers all the upcoming trends and styles — while the playful 80s disco and the sporty athlete styles continues in the coming seasons, you can also see new trends like urban cowboy, heavy metal, and military coming as a strong force. There are also new brands like House of Holland, Thom Browne, and Christopher Kane, exclusively available at On Pedder.

Thank you Alison for the tour, I had such a great time and got to try on some of my favourite pieces! Now I just need to update my wishlist and seems it’s getting longer than ever!

White is no doubt the hottest colour this season, and I have been obsessing with wearing white since I can remember. This time, I wore a cropped top (You can see my tips on cropped top here) together with a pair of culottes to create a minimal look.

I love culottes, in fact, I have been wearing culottes for more than a few summers already. As they made a come back this year, it just gave me more reasons to get a pair in white. I love how easy they are to be styled with and how breezy they make you feel under the hot summer days.

    Tip:

    - Minimal doesn’t mean plain and boring. You can still accessorize as long as you limit the number down. I always go for bracelets and rings instead of necklaces to make it look “cleaner”.

    - If you are not sure about “head to toe” white yet, try a neutral or simple colour on your bag, shoes or accessories like nude or pastels or black. Metallic is actually a good balance. Go for a pair of silver shoes like me if your want them to blend in or gold if you want a bit of contrast.

    - Because of the midi length of culottes and since not all of us have a model figure, a pair of heels will definitely help to elongate your body shape, making you look slimmer.

"Graphic & Graphic" - by Craig McDean for Vogue Italia July 2014

Loving everything about this editorial - the 60’s inspired graphic printed pieces, the minimalistic make up and hair, together with the framed box setting, created a strong retro vibe with a modern day twist.

  4. Phoebe’s Dressing: Cropped Top & Full Skirt

    Top - COS (Altered) // Skirt - Karen Millen // Sandals - Ancient Greek Sandals // Handbag - Celine // Sunglasses - Celine // Bracelets - Pick & Made.

This summer is especially hot in Hong Kong. With days that hits 34 degrees, I simply can’t stay in denim any longer. Instead, I have been living in short bottoms these days — skirt, shorts, culottes, anything but denim.

To match with all these high waist bottoms, a cropped top is definitely the best and the hottest item this season. I have been looking for cropped tops in different colors and materials, but it’s not easy to find one that suits me — they are either too short or too open that I simply need to wear something under (adding on another layer in this weather is definitely a no-no). So, I decided to buy tops that fit me well and alter them to the length I want.

I couldn’t be happier with the result. I have been cropping more than five tops so far and I am still doing it. I highly recommend you to do the same.

This time, I matched a navy blue cropped top with a brush stroke full skirt I found from Karen Millen which is another summer must-have. Full skirt not only adds on femininity but it can also create casual chic look when you match it with flats sandals or sneakers. And the brushstroke print is simply the hottest print this season.

    Tips:

    - To get the right length, put on the top and measure it from your belly button. I normally make it 2 to 3 inches down from my belly bottom, assuming the high waist bottom is 1 inch up from the belly button. This will create a small overlapped space between the top and the bottom and make you look taller and slimmer.

    - Don’t throw away your old tops so easily. Giving them a crop may give your wardrobe a complete makeover with new looks that will last you all summer long.

Kenzo FW 2014 Campaign by  Toiletpaper

Kenzo FW 2014 Campaign Video by Toiletpaper

Third time’s the charm — the collaboration of Kenzo and Toiletpaper once again wow us with the playful and eccentric imagery.

Inspired by David Lynch and his oeuvre, the campaign takes us on a mysterious journey to an unfamiliar world, a place where the ordinary is slightly distorted, mirrors lead to other dimensions, and the strange and beautiful coexist in singular harmony…

The use of the striking colours, the surreal settings, and the styling are just meticulously put together. A great way to take a break from your daily work and explore a world of endless possibilities and inspirations.
