Technicolor Dream Coats”by Driu & Tiago for WSJ Magazine September 2014

I know it’s only August and still over 30 degrees outside, but I can’t help checking out what’s in for this fall and winter already.

Coats are always the first items I check for fall/winter, after all, everyone needs one in the cold days. I love how this editorial is showcasing different styles of coats in a color coordinated way. From structural to slouchy, each coat is displayed through model with a simple pose, yet pairing with minimal styling and settings, the whole editorial simply looks chic and stylish.

We have been working on a music video for a Hong Kong indie musician for some time now, and finally all the shooting is done. Here are some behind the scene photos on the different shooting days.

As always, shooting in August under the strong sunlight is challenging, with all the heat and sweat, but then again, when you see the result comes out as exactly what you wanted, it’s all worth it. Stay tuned for the music video!

    Piece d’Anarchive SS14 Lookbook

A couple of weeks ago I shared with you ‘La Maison de La Celle-Saint-Cloud’ by French artist, Jean Pierre Raynaud, also mentioning about how the fashion world got inspired by this tiled house art installation. (You can see the post here)

Perhaps the biggest homage to Raynaud’s La Maison in fashion is by Piece d’Anarchive, the French knitwear brand. In fact, this is a direct collaboration with Raynaud, who created a special installation of 64 steel containers filled with original tiles of La Maison for the presentation of the collection at the Palais de Tokyo last September.

The collection, using Raynaud’s signature white ceramic tile with black joints as the main graphic reference, was beautifully transformed from the architectural forms into graphic streetwear, with 90s silhouettes and heavy layering.

Since the 90s and the sporty trends are the hottest right now, this is definitely one of the coolest collection for this summer.

    Top - Givenchy // Skirt - ASOS // Slip-on - Givenchy // Handbag - Celine // Sunglasses - Celine // Bracelets - Pick & Made.

Sporty look has been around for a few seasons now, and looking at the upcoming trends, it’s obvious that it will simply stay for a while longer. For me, it is definitely a good news, as I often need to wear comfortable shoes to move around easily because of the nature of my work.

But sporty look doesn’t always have to be casual. The key is the choice of materials and textures.

This time, I opted for a lace top. Nothing is more feminine and luxurious than lace, but putting a sporty print on it, the style simply transforms in an instant. I matched the lace top with a feminine satin full skirt and a pair of leather slip-on to enrich the whole look, making it sport luxe.

I love how casual and chic this look turned out, with a small touch of femininity. It’s perfect for me to go to meetings and also go around in the city to scout for clothing for my clients.

La Maison de La Celle-Saint-Cloud by Jean Pierre Raynaud

‘La Maison de La Celle-Saint-Cloud’ is an art installation in a house form built by French artist, Jean Pierre Raynaud.

Fascinated by space, uniformity and identity, he began to build this house in 1969 using entirely white tiles with black grout, creating the regular grid pattern in a rigid and geometric form. In 1974, the house was opened to the public in Paris showing the ultimate perfection and flawlessness. But then in 1988, the artist decided to closed the house to himself only and subsequently demolished it in 1993 and presented the debris in 976 surgical containers.

The life of La Maison didn’t stop there, the fragments of which, have since been exhibited in various installations, and the fashion industry has also been paying tribute to it with different ad campaigns and collections inspired by the house.
