Earlier in May, I introduced you to a new Hong Kong fashion brand called Sketcharound. (You can see the post here)

Having recently launched their second collection, Sketcharound opens its first pop up shop at Noveltylane.com Concept Store, Hong Kong. I went to the press preview last Thursday and finally met the two designers behind the brand, Priscilla and Kan.

One of the highlights of the pop up shop is the exclusive collection "Fuschia-Lash" with Noveltylane.com. The collection consists of seven selected styles from the AW 2014 collection, each features a vibrant fuschia tone crossing to highlights the tailoring details.

I had a nice chat with the lovely designer-duo that day and learned a lot about every detail they insisted on each of their designs. They told me that they did a lot of experiments to ensure the wearability and quality of each garment; for some of the styles, they even hand painted each piece themselves to guarantee a uniqueness to every item.

Apart from creating the lookbook themselves, they also designed, built and painted the pop up shop display. On top of that, they made use of the painted acrylic from their fashion show, turning them into handmade bracelets and giving them as a gift to every guest.

Being a jewelry and accessory designer myself, it was so nice for me to meet some like-minded people who are also hands-on, like to experiment and care about the uniqueness of their design. I see their passion and the thoughtfulness of the whole branding process. If you also like minimal, unique and detail-oriented fashion, do check out their pop up shop which will be open until the end of October.

    Top - Zara (Cropped) // Skirt - Sacai Luck // Slip-on - Common Projects // Handbag - Celine // Sunglasses - Dienastie // Bracelets - Pick & Made.

I guess every girl probably has at least one lace item in her wardrobe. For me, nothing is more feminine and romantic than lace, however as I don’t want to appear too lady-like, I always mix and match the lace with more casual pieces to create a chic look. You can see my previous lace outfit here.

Since I’ve always wanted to try a mixed prints look, I decided to match a classic striped top with the floral lace skirt. To avoid making your look being over the top, the key is color coordination. When wearing different prints, choose colors that are in harmony with each other and limit the whole outfit to no more than four colors. This time, I matched bright royal blue with emerald green, and accessorized with white shoes and bag. It gives the whole look a classic nautical feeling with a twist. I love it and hope the warm days can stay a bit longer so that I can wear this look again!

Earlier in September, Starbucks invited us to join its global project, "Meet Me at Starbucks". It’s a film about people from 28 different countries who visited Starbucks on the same one day. LAB VIII, of course represented Hong Kong. The film is now out and you can see it here.

We were also asked to create a documentary about Eli, a Hong Kong Indie band, who was looking for a new band member and held an audition at Starbucks in HK.

It was a 2-day shoot, one day at Eli’s band room doing interviews with the band, and another day at Starbucks, filming the whole audition process. Here sharing with you are some of the behind the scenes. Although the days were very long, we really had fun together, especially we got to know more about Eli’s story and other talented indie musicians in Hong Kong who are all passionate about music. You can see the documentary, “In Harmony” here.

These two videos are not edited by LAB VIII, but hopefully we would have our own “director’s cut” very soon. Stay tuned!

    Dress - Tibi // Sandals - Ancient Greek Sandals // Handbag - Celine // Sunglasses - Dienastie // Bracelets - Pick & Made.

This is probably my last summer outfit in white. I guess I just love wearing white a lot!

I am so in love in this little white dress because it looks like a cropped top and a full skirt, but it’s actually a one piece. It’s perfect when I needed to dress up but too lazy or in a rush, just put it on and I am ready to go! I also love the split back to give a little extra detail.

Summer may start to go away, but I guess I would continue dressing in white towards the colder days.
